This non-fiction book about the heroics of Jan and Antonina Zabinski, during WWII, is a beautiful blend of history and a real-life story that will capture your heart and mind. HFA Rating: 4.5/5.
Alan Judd's WWII novel depicts the struggle between love and loyalty and hope against the atrocities of war with keen skill. It's based on the last days of Kaiser Wilhelm's life during the beginning years of WWII and woven into the story is a romance between the head of the Kaiser's SS guard and the Kaiser's maid, who happens to be an English/Jewish spy. HFA Rating: 3.5/5
